Germany trip

Apart from the hype surrounding Ironman, Frankfurt was alive with world cup fever. We went multi-cultural and did the Aussie’s from Abu Dhabi in an Irish pub for the Germany v’s Argentina world cup game.

Loving the crazy hats the pub was giving away

How much noise can we make?

Entertaining the crowd at half time

Too many? Just bored with the game.

But we come to life when we are allowed to dance on the bar after Germany won!

Bar top dancer at the age of 4!

Happy with Germany's win?

After 5 nights in Frankfurt, Clint left his beloved bike in storage and we headed south to a little town called Bagau for another 5 nights. There was no reason for chosing this town other than it’s proximity to Lego Land and Fussen. We had a 2 bedroom apartment that was nice and spacious, a little hot in the heat wave without air-conditioning at night but not really a problem. Although Clint and I managed to score the world’s most uncomfortable bed, I think sleeping on the kitchen bench would have been softer. That said no real complaints and it served our purpose well.

Lego Land was the highlight of the trip for the kids. They both love lego and I love the fact that they play with it for hours on end!

calm rides first

Lachs at the wheel

Both passed their 'driving test' even though they fish tailed the cars along the track to make it more fun!

so many choices...

Up the creek... with a paddle

Lachie loved the fast roller coasters, unfortunately Charlotte wasn't allowed on them as she was just under the height

Clint and Lachs front row

Charlotte loved this ride... fast, spinning and water!

La's setting off water bombs at Clint and Lachie

It was a great day, the photos don’t do it justice. Pirate island and knights kingdom were the 2 favourite areas, the rides in Lego City were a bit to slow for my two adrenalin junkies.

Other highlights of the trip:

Lindau- Bavarian town/island in Lake Constance

Carriage ride in Fussen to Hohenschwangau Castle

La's danced her way through Germany; bar tops, tree stumps, town squares, castles...

Neuschwanstein Castle

Rothenburg ob der Tauber- medieval walled old town. Amazing place!

Street entertainment in Rothenburg, this guy kept Lachie amused for ages as he tried to make the man laugh and move.

Crazy car outside the most unbelievable Christmas shop we have ever seen. All handmade wooden decorations and ceiling high, superbly decorated trees, Christmas may be 6 months away but the shop made you feel like it could be tomorrow... it has to be seen to be believed.
